Martinique is a Caribbean island, forming part of
the Small Antilles, an arc of islands stretching from the Virgin
Islands to Venezuela.
The other islands that make up the Small Antilles are the Virgin
Islands, Guadeloupe, St Martin, St Bartholomew, Anguilla, Antigua,
Montserrat, Dominica, St Lucia, St Vincent, Barbados, Grenada,
Trinidad and Tobago.
Approximately eight hours by plane from continental
Europe and from 4 hours departing the USA.
The islands are 5 hours behind Europe and 1 hour behind East Coast
Not far from the Equator, Martinique is just below the Tropic of
Cancer (P15° L60°)
